Celebrating a Year of Continuous Supply at Sol Azul

This year marks a significant milestone for Sol Azul Oysters as we celebrate our first anniversary of providing a continuous supply of oysters throughout the year. Thanks to strategic planning and the successful acquisition of a second farm, we have enhanced our ability to deliver fresh, high-quality oysters to our customers every day of the year. Let's dive into how we achieved this and what it means for our future.

 

Expanding to Embrace the Cool Waters of Bahia Falsa

Our original farm, located in the nutrient-rich waters of San Ignacio, has always been an idyllic location for cultivating premium oysters. However, the late summer variations in water temperature pushed us to stop harvesting in the months of September and October. To overcome this, Sol Azul Oysters made a strategic decision to expand our operations to include a second farm located north of our main farm, in the cooler waters of Bahia Falsa.

The cooler temperatures of Bahia Falsa allow us to cultivate oysters during times when warmer water temperatures at San Ignacio would typically stop oyster production. This geographical diversification not only stabilizes our production but also ensures that we can maintain a steady supply regardless of the season.

This consistency is not just a win for our business operations; it's a promise of quality and freshness to our customers, chefs, and restaurants who rely on us for their seafood needs.
